Director of Marketing

The Job

As the Director of Marketing at moovel North America, you will be responsible for the development and execution of marketing and communications strategy in all U.S. markets. We work with government agencies, app developers, ride providers, and directly with consumers to improve transportation and payment in cities around the world. Our Director of Marketing must have deep experience in B2B marketing with an understanding and interest in consumer marketing practices, bringing our diverse portfolio of products to market. With the backing of Daimler and Mercedes Benz, we are creating the transportation system of tomorrow.

The Director of Marketing will report to the Chief Business Development Officer, the strategic lead for all new and preexisting business, and coordinate closely with our global marketing team based in Stuttgart, Germany. The ideal candidate should be an excellent mentor and team leader, promoting accountability and ownership within the marketing group and building strong partnerships with technical and product departments both in Austin and Portland, Oregon.  

You must be detail oriented and able to look across the organization and think strategically, while also having the ability to roll up your sleeves and execute on campaigns in real time.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Shape, manage, and advance moovel North America’s marketing and communications strategy
  • Lead and mentor a small marketing and communications team
  • Coordinate closely with customers, clients, and partners to promote products and integrations while developing replicable best practices
  • Own and advance moovel’s content strategy to attract new business
  • Work with the product team to conduct market research and feedback loops; usher in a culture of utilizing data to make critical decisions
  • Be an advocate for the user and customer, deeply understanding their needs
  • Shape and manage the marketing and communications budget
  • Identify, capture, and forecast key market trends and competitive offerings, then translate them into actionable insights
  • Collaborate with technical, product, business, and operations teams, as well as marketing and communications colleagues at our parent company based in Stuttgart, Germany

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 6+ years of marketing experience, ideally with a B2B tech focus
  • 3+ years of leading small to medium size teams of marketers and communications professionals
  • Understanding and experience with SEO, B2B content, and email marketing
  • Understanding and experience with mobile app marketing tactics
  • Excellent written and and verbal communications skills with the ability to effectively share vision and strategy
  • Proven track record managing multiple ongoing complex projects and implementation across a portfolio of mobile and web products
  • Experience or keen interest in the transportation tech industry

Nice to Have Skills

  • Bonus if you have Google Ad Words certification
  • Experience with the RFP and creative agency process a plus

Special Information (Travel required, physical requirements, etc.)

  • Additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals and projects
  • Travel up to 25% of time
