Market Operations Lead - AUNZ

Market Operations is part of the larger ‘Markets’ team, responsible for the steering of Spotify’s regions and the performance of their markets.

The Markets team consists of regional Managing Directors and Market Operation Leads. The Managing Director manage cross-functional teams and have the overall responsibility of applicable market budgets, goals and targets.

The Market Operations Lead is responsible for the regional business rhythm, business analysis and insights, business planning, regional operating processes.

What you’ll do

Business Planning:

  • Owning the regional planning process and framework, ensuring that the regular cadence is upheld

  • Adapting the design of the regional business planning process and framework to fit the specificities of the region

  • Ensuring that the plan takes into account all necessary functions and addresses both local challenges and global priorities

Business reviews and reporting:

  • Tracking periodic performance of market KPIs

  • Owning the process, framework and output of market analysis, business reviews, ensuring that a regular cadence is upheld

  • Assisting the central team by adapting the design of the business review process and format

  • Ensuring that a high level of quality is upheld and that all relevant business challenges are correctly addressed

Operating Rhythm:

  • Driving the operating rhythm for the region by creating efficiency, removing obstacles and improving processes

  • Providing the Managing Director and functions with the insights and knowledge needed to drive decisions and define strategy for the region

  • Ensuring communication and alignment between all functions

Problem Solving and Strategic projects:

  • Evaluating and executing on strategic market opportunities that may arise

  • Project management of market launches where necessary

  • Solving operational problems from small to large

  • Stepping in and executing alongside or in place of functions when needed

Who you are

  • Passion and deep understanding of the technology and music spaces

  • 5-7 years experience in an early and growth stage internet company and/or top-tier management consultancy

  • MBA preferred, but not necessary

  • Generalist skill-set that is equally comfortable analyzing data, coordinating an event, speaking to clients, or negotiating a deal

  • Organized, process-driven strategic thinker with an understanding of planning and budgeting

  • Proven results demonstrating thought leadership and business judgment, and presenting rigorous analysis and insights with simplicity, clarity, and confidence

  • Rapid and effective decision-making skills

  • Ability to learn new concepts, technologies and businesses quickly and to produce quality work in short time-frames

  • Expert in Powerpoint, Excel, data analysis and modeling

  • Experience working with an international team

  • Genuine, confident, flexible, and fun attitude
