Senior Manager, Business Strategy (SF, NY, CHICAGO)

The Senior Manager of Business Strategy is a new position at POPSUGAR reporting to the Vice President of Consumer Insights. The position sits within POPSUGAR’s Media Division and is critical to the company’s sales strategy -- developing insights to drive long-term brand partnerships.

The Senior Manager of Business Strategy will serve as a strategic category consultant to our sales organization, working directly with our Brand Partners, Brand Strategy & Innovation, and Account Management teams to develop customized, insights-driven market analysis for our external clients. The mission of the Senior Manager is to educate internal and external clients on developing category trends, and category developments. Using a mix of 1st party, 3rd party, and other applicable sources, including original research, the Senior Manager will communicate category level insights by developing presentations and by developing original content for POPSUGAR Insights (insights.popsugar.com).  The Senior Manager will have a strong knowledge of primary research techniques, be able to manage multiple client projects efficiently, and will be responsible for developing category-specific presentations that effectively communicate developing category trends.

Responsibilities & Experience:

  • Use insights to drive long-term brands partnerships as part of POPSUGAR’s Bakery.
  • Experience leveraging 1st and 3rd party data from vast data sets to uncover insights relevant to specific advertiser categories (i.e. beauty, retail, CPG) and brand partners.
  • Experience developing marketing stories based on insights and presenting to external partners.
  • Working knowledge of statistical modeling techniques.
  • 5-7 years experience in insights, strategy, or marketing analytics, preferably with 5+ years of digital experience.
  • Demonstrates ability to be strategic, analytical, and tactical
  • Familiarity with competitive research activities (competitive analysis, audience analysis)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; solid team player required
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Strong experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, and other presentation software. Experience with data visualization tools a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience synthesizing and communicating insights across the organization to help shape the strategy development for various teams
