Opendoor is hiring a

City Lead

Phoenix, United States

At Opendoor, we’re on a mission to make it simple to buy and sell homes. The traditional process is broken, with an average home taking over 90 days to sell and costing thousands of dollars. We make buying and selling a home stress-free and instant. We’ve built an exceptional team, have raised over $100 million from top-notch investors and are growing fast --buying and selling more than $75 million of homes per month.

We’re seeking a Phoenix City Lead who can drive scale and operational excellence in the  Phoenix market – Opendoor’s first market and a hub for our operations. Day to day, you will lead a large team of operators on the ground, coordinate with our headquarters in San Francisco, and make data-driven decisions to inform the direction of our Phoenix business. You will be responsible for managing the P&L and hiring strategy for a regional team that is expected to double in size in the next year.

In this role, you will

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of Opendoor’s flagship market
  • Design, track and deliver on KPIs for the market and oversee the P&L
  • Use data, market tests, and business judgment to make decisions and prioritize market resources quickly
  • Manage, motivate and ensure the professional development of a large team of full-time employees, part-time employees and third party vendors
  • Identify partnership opportunities with 3rd party vendors that will build scale and ensure quality in Opendoor Homes
  • Be the key point of customer and market insight for Phoenix – collecting, analyzing and disseminating best practices from Phoenix to the rest of the company
  • Serve as a representative of Opendoor at local and regional events including realtor conferences and meetings with regulators and partners

We’re looking for an awesome individual who:

  • Is a well rounded all-star, with off the charts EQ
  • Has exceptional communication and negotiation skills to serve as Opendoor’s ambassador in Phoenix
  • Finds analytics exciting and absorbing, with a knack for structuring analysis and translating data into insightful stories and impactful decisions
  • Can move from blue sky strategy to tactical implementation of complex operations without missing a beat
  • Will be relentlessly resourceful and adaptive in growing our business
  • Is an entrepreneur at heart
