Director of Strategic Marketing

The Director of Strategic Marketing will support solutions that further Aver’s corporate and market strategies as well as the growth of Aver’s business. This role will apply a deep understanding of the value-based care market, customers, and prospects to effectively manage and execute a diverse marketing strategy of Aver’s solutions. This individual will be a subject matter expert (SME) who serves as an organizational resource for all facets of the value-based reimbursement market, translating market trends into industry leading solutions utilizing Aver’s products. He or she will also be responsible for leading a customer segment marketing function charged with development and implementation of innovative marketing plans and strategies, ensuring the Aver brand voice is relayed across a variety of sales and marketing channels.

As the Director of Strategic Marketing, this person will help lead the organization by demonstrating excellence in business judgment, long-term strategic thinking and complex problem solving. This function partners with all key organizations in Aver and will be working across multiple teams, including Strategy, Sales, and Customer Delivery. The desired candidate will possess strategy, marketing, and/or product management experience, combined with proven abilities to develop and lead programs that drive positive business outcomes. The Director of Strategic Marketing will:

  • Understand the real business problems of customers and prospects and create effective solutions to market our products as well as a range of services, support, and deliverables
  • Work cross-functionally to communicate the value of our product solutions
  • Assist Sales by prospecting qualified sales leads and serving as a SME for Sales-related efforts
  • Assist Customer Delivery by identifying up-sell and cross-sell opportunities
  • Market solutions through active industry engagement and thought leadership, including speaking opportunities, content authorship, and expert panel participation
  • Lead market analysis to identify and segment market opportunities
  • Drive customer acquisition, retention, and optimization through targeted marketing initiatives specific to attributes identified through segmentation of addressable market
  • Own development and socialization of customer, market, and competitive insights, and translate these into focused service offerings and value proposition across existing and emerging markets
  • Lead development of tools that the Sales force can utilize effectively in securing new business and company positioning in executive materials
  • Develop and implement customer engagement strategies for existing and emerging markets through events and programs, direct marketing, and communications
  • Ensure Aver value proposition and market relevance are appropriately positioned and promoted across PR activity, customer and industry events, and digital media
  • Communicate vision, strategy, and specific initiatives internally to executive and other stakeholder audiences, as well as externally to customers, including representing Aver at key industry events and committees

Position Requirements

Your background may not include all of the experiences outlined, but you have a demonstrated track record of seeking new challenges, learning rapidly and delivering great results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Other requirements include:

  • 7+ years in a healthcare strategy, marketing, and/or product management role
  • Extensive experience in the healthcare industry is required, working with both payers and providers (applicants without this experience will not be considered)
  • In depth knowledge of the value-based reimbursement market is highly desired
  • Experience and proven track record in product/solution marketing or product management
  • Experience developing business plans for new markets and products
  • Strategic thinker with an ability to see relationships, determine what is critical, make choices, and balance long and short term objectives
  • Ability to prioritize workflow and manage multiple projects with minimal direction
  • Strong teamwork and influence skills and the ability to work well across multiple teams
  • Ability to work in fast changing industry, tolerate ambiguity, and demonstrate problem solving and leadership with limited oversight
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and comfortable communicating to persons with varying degrees of seniority, both internally and customer-facing audiences
  • Experience with early-stage growth companies and/or high-tech industry will be favored
  • 4-year degree in a related field
  • Location in or relocation to Columbus, Ohio
