Order Management Analyst

Order Management Analyst 

The Order Management Analyst position is a critical role to our Sales Operations and Finance teams at Pivotal.  This position will collaborate extensively with functions across the company including Sales Operations, Finance, Legal and Sales worldwide.  Operationally, the position will engage with the business management and deals desk functions in advance of order booking, and financially, the position will act as the first review for revenue recognition.

Responsibilities include:

The Order Management Analyst is responsible for the timely and accurate booking of Pivotal worldwide direct and indirect orders.

  • Review all documentation and support required to book Pivotal orders - software subscription, renewals, services, etc.
  • Validate all aspects of transaction packages for accuracy and compliance with Pivotal’s business practices and policies while maintaining customer satisfaction and responsiveness
  • Anticipate issues and initiate actions to ensure customer orders are processed timely and efficiently
  • Works closely with business partners to book deals and resolve any potential issues in a timely manner
  • Drive business process improvements and initiatives with the goal of creating a best in class order management process
  • Ensures accuracy of transactions to guarantee consistent integrity in financial reporting
  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Create and maintain process documentation as needed
  • Ad-hoc projects as time permits

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred
  • 3-5 years of order management experience (quote-to-cash process and associated systems) in a software company, ideally with a subscription sales model
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience communicating with all levels of a Sales organization
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to solve issues independently while thinking “outside of the box”
  • Self starter and motivated to drive issues to resolution
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Must have a sense of urgency and be able to work effectively under time critical deadlines
  • Able to work long hours at month-ends and quarter-ends
  • Ideal candidate demonstrates confidence, good judgment and is a team player

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Experience in a multi-channel sales environment
  • Salesforce (SFDC) experience
  • Experience with an ERP system (SAP, NetSuite, etc.)
