Front-End Software Engineer

Skimlinks is a technology and product company near Old Street, building monetisation and big-data analytics platforms. We are the trusted monetization partner for over 60,000 publishers, including Gawker Media, Condé Nast, Hearst Magazines, and The Huffington Post.

We capture 15 billion shopping intent signals across our network of 1.5 million publisher domains daily. Last year over $700 million of e-commerce transactions were tracked through our platform. We’re very much a startup (we iterate fast and have agility), though we’re also revenue generating and highly profitable; and we’re looking to grow the team substantially. On the front-end, We are building beautiful user interfaces on top of a world-class, big data platform. A single page analytics suite to give our merchants and publishers actionable information about campaign performance, user engagement and conversion. We are helping merchants and publisher connect to run more successful campaigns and better monetize content.

You will be part of a cross-functional team including front-end, big data engineers, backend engineers, and full stack engineers.

  • Working with multiple technologies including JavaScript (and associated frameworks), HTML5, CSS3.
  • Creating new interfaces, reporting suites and APIs
  • Collaborating with the design team to create responsive, fast and cross-browser interfaces used by merchants and publishers.
  • Connect and use Skimlinks APIs to process and visualise data in the browser using JavaScript and charting libraries.

We are looking for candidates with experience in the following:

  • Advanced knowledge of JavaScript, as well as associated frameworks (such as React, Redux etc.). Having said this, you should know what's going on "under the hood" in JavaScript. 
  • ES6 / ES7 knowledge would be desirable; as we’re using it in production.
  • Excellent experience with front-end technologies - HTML5, CSS3 and associated preprocessors.
  • Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent), with a good knowledge around CS fundamentals.
  • Experience coding on the back-end would be desirable, though not a deal-breaker - Node.js, Python (we’re using both), etc.
