Sr. Program Manager

SIE seeks a driven, ambitious, and energetic Sr. Program Manager to lead various programs to enable, expand and improve the e-commerce platform for the Sony PlayStation Network.  These programs will span multiple projects, teams, locations, milestones and deliverables.  The Sr. Program Manager will work closely with Product Managers and Engineering to help plan and track projects from inception through deployment at a global scale.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides program management expertise for highly complex programs (large to enterprise scale)
  • Collaborate with staff and management of multiple worldwide business units and outside 3rd parties to identify, communicate, and manage:
    • program involvement
    • program goals
    • tasks and timelines
    • expectations
  • Update executive audiences on program plans and issues
  • Establish methods and metrics for tracking/improving performance and making decisions within the extended Program Management group
  • Identify areas for process improvement and form working groups to carry out said improvements
  • Portfolio management at the “program” level
  • Exhibits leadership skills by advocating best practices, anticipating future problems and issues, and seeks to improve processes and tools for the program
  • Plan and lead medium scale (100+ people) events
  • Inspire and mentor others to career and program achievement

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum experience thresholds:
    • 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree
    • 6 years of related experience with a Master’s degree
    • 3 years of related experience with PhD
    • Special dispensation for candidates with 3+ years of experience in the streaming, gaming, music, digital media, network service industry
  • Previous experience utilizing agile methodologies and principles
  • Solid understanding of programming languages, software development, and release processes
  • Proficiency with tools in agile development (Rally, Jira, Confluence, Trello, etc.)
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions
  • Proven ability to solve routine and complicated problems effectively and independently
  • Excellent executive presence and communication skills across all levels of stakeholders
  • Ability to lead both vertically and horizontally in a large organization
  • Excel in conflict resolution, negotiation, and people management (preferably at a globally diverse scale)

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Previous experience in an e-Commerce environment
  • SAFe knowledge (www.scaledagileframework.com)
  • Scrum Master or Product Owner certifications
  • Familiarity with digital media software and networking technologies, especially those related to Sony’s products, services, and devices
  • Japanese language skills helpful
