Business Development Representatives (BDR) are at the forefront of the Rapid7 sales organization. Their main job responsibility is to sell our products and professional services to distinguished IT/Security executives at small-medium size businesses up to the world’s largest Fortunes. All BDR’s are required to participate in the 4 stage BDR Sales Development Program. The goal of the BDR Sales Development Program is to train individuals the skills necessary to make an immediate impact on the business and generate qualified pipeline. The role will include cold-calling, solution selling, building a territory plan, objection handling, relationship management, negotiation, and active listening
Duties / Responsibilities:
Successfully complete three week Sales Enablement training curriculum consisting of instructor lead classroom and on the job training.
Actively identify and prospect into net new accounts, qualify warm sales leads, and open qualified sales opportunities.
Build and maintain relationships with high-ranking decision-makers at small-medium size businesses up to the world’s largest Fortunes.
Collaborate with Rapid7 Sales Representatives to maximize territory coverage and turn opportunities into deals.
Engage with the Sales Engineering team to demo Rapid7 products for potential customers.
Continuous learning/enablement of sales-skills, products, customers and the industry as a whole.
Achieve sales metrics: Minimum 100 dials/day; 15 sales opportunities created per month.
Requirement for promotion to Sales Account Executive: Successful completion of the Sales Development Program, proven track record of over-achieving sales metrics, and management approval.
Recent college graduate with a bachelor's degree and/or up to 2 years of professional work experience
Team oriented, but individually goal oriented as well
Excellent communication skills
Desire to learn and win
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume sales call environment
