Carvana is hiring a

Senior Mobile Designer

San Francisco, United States

At Carvana, we’re tackling one of the largest, yet-to-be-disrupted markets in the world – the $1T per year U.S. car market (yes, that’s $Trillion with a “T”). We provide a seamless, 100% online car buying experience for consumers from end-to-end.

Carvana has just opened a satellite office in Palo Alto, CA. This office will house the best mobile development team ever assembled to sell used cars. We are looking for passionate iOS and Android designers to craft delightful experiences for our first generation of mobile applications.  One might say this is the greenest of greenfield opportunities.

You are fanatical about delighting users, solving problems, and moving huge numbers with your designs.  You love being involved with every step of the process, from market research to customer development to solution design and iteration.  You’re highly autonomous and capable of taking high-level business problems and quickly developing solutions.

We iterate quickly, and having already crossed a $140M revenue run rate, you will see your work have an immediate, scaled impact every day in a well-funded and rapidly growing company.

You will create wireframes/designs for the Android and iOS platforms.  This will begin with our consumer application(s) but will eventually encompass enterprise/internal use cases as well.

  • Participate end-to-end in the product life cycle, particularly in market research and customer development
  • Be actively involved in interpreting analytics and customer data to improve the user experience
  • Collaborate with Carvana's Product Management, Engineering, Creative Marketing, and Customer Advocate teams.
  • Work onsite or travel biweekly to our Palo Alto office, with travel to Carvana headquarters in Phoenix, AZ, on a quarterly basis

  • 3+ years experience in user experience/user interface design
  • Deep design work on at least one consumer mobile app (with traction)
  • Expertise with standard design toolchain (Sketch, Invision, etc.)
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Open to feedback from all parts of the company
  • A sense of humor. Read this again, if necessary

  • Market research/customer development
  • HTML/CSS/JavaScript web development experience (for prototyping)
  • Automotive industry experience
