Product Manager

As a core member of the PopSugar development team, you will be responsible for evolving our websites and tools to meet the needs of our viewers, brand partners, and editorial staff.  Using A/B testing methodologies and analytics, you will bring the best user experience, business strategy, and product design to market. You will work closely with the development leads and cross-functional teams on various corporate initiatives across different platforms (desktop, mobile, video, email, partners, etc.). Example projects: launching new PopSugar Must Have products, creating new brand partner experiences/content types, video end screen optimization, new OTT apps, ad viewability optimizations, and social media growth programs.




  • Work closely with various business teams (primarily Must Have, editorial, and brand partnerships) to identify issues and create new solutions that will grow user engagement
  • Create functional specifications, including success metrics, user experience, wireframes, development needs, and timelines based on business requirements

  • Define and analyze metrics needed to make informed decisions about new products and existing product roadmaps


  • Actively engage development and QA teams to manage implementation of new products and understand challenges they are facing

  • Interact with design to improve user experience across all platforms and products

  • Manage technical projects from start to finish, communicating closely with multiple teams

  • Keep abreast of the competitive landscape, industry trends, and web innovation within the marketplace





  • 2-5 years product/project management or applicable work experience (emphasis on publishing or commerce a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (technical or analytical field a plus)

  • Previous hands-on involvement in all stages of the website product lifecycle, bonus points for prior engineering or design experience

  • Proven track record of making smart features versus time-to-market trade-offs

  • Solid grasp of web design principles and a good understanding of front-end web technologies; experience in HTML and CSS a strong plus

  • Detail oriented and able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills

  • Great team player with respect for others, yet able to work independently

  • Enthusiasm for new technologies and new media

  • Avid consumer of PopSugar media a plus
