Security Developer (Senior)

Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering Practices, the Senior Security Developer will protect Lightspeed and our customers from vulnerabilities. Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate in the architecture and design of secure systems
  • Assist our development and DevOps teams in building secure software and infrastructure
  • Participate in software development by providing guidance and participating in design reviews
  • Perform threat analysis and security audits on our software and infrastructure
  • Stay current to monitor active threats
  • Respond to vulnerabilities and threats
  • Perform analysis for security incidents
  • Work as an integral part of the development, QA and DevOps teams



  • 5+ years experience in developing Internet facing applications with 3+ years dedicated to security work
  • Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Experience performing threat analysis and penetration testing
  • Deep knowledge of security issues affecting Internet facing applications
  • Deep knowledge of web technologies and cloud application architecture
  • Deep knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments
  • Knowledge of both SQL and non-relational data storage
  • Knowledge of secure application development
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Fluency in English



  • Membership/participation in one or more security communities such as OWASP
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with OS X and iOS development
  • Knowledge of Payment Card Industry certification (PCI DSS)
  • Fluency in French
