Overview:

Rent the Runway is seeking an Outbound Manager who will be responsible for distributions systems and ensuring the efficiency of operations. Adept at making quick decisions in a busy environments to maintain productivity. Specialize in setting production objectives managing staff and resolving issues.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Profound knowledge of managing large-scale warehouse distribution systems
  • Direct supervision of 2+ supervisors and 40+ associates
  • Extensive experience monitoring staff performance and providing motivation
  • Solid knowledge of lean principles and techniques to maximize customer value
  • Profuse knowledge of product handling practices and inventory movement
  • Sound knowledge of the use of inventory software
  • Ability to implement industry safety standards
  • Amazing communications and organizational abilities
  • Develop and maintain a safe work environment
  • Managing teams, establishing procedures, metrics and processes  
  • Review the work forecasts and determine the productivity requirements to meet daily building objectives    
  • Create a positive team dynamic that encourages all associates adapt to the ever-changing business, and stay focused on the customer experience
  • Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives
  • Hire, train, and manage a small staff made up of Team Leaders and line staff (including, but not limited to, providing input on hiring, training, evaluating, and developing team members)
  • Drive performance and process changes based on lean initiatives to drive operational efficiency and quality customer service
  • Understand the entire fulfillment process and the cause and effect of upstream and downstream activities
  • Support Senior Manager in relevant project work

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience managing people and teams (4+ years), preferably in logistics-focused role
  • Hands-on, "get-it-done" attitude; comfortable taking ownership and executing changes based on sound research; must also be able to adapt quickly and make changes in short period of time in start-up environment
  • Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Proactive and collaborative approach; service-oriented
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and listening skills
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office Suite Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Some Saturday and holiday work required, particularly around Christmas and New Year’s Eve

 

Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in business administration, manufacturing, supply chain
  • 5-7 years of related experience working in a retail management, warehouse, or quality assurance capacity
  • 3-4 years supervisory/management experience
  • Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Experience with developing/documenting procedures
  • Email and Microsoft Office Proficiency (i.e. excel, word, PowerPoint, etc).
