Team Lead, Account Management (West Coast)

The Team Lead, Account Management is responsible for delivering the Refinery29 “white glove” service to every brand partner. This is a critical role within the most high performing sales organization in the digital media business.  The Team Lead, Account Management will be focused on inspiring and developing a growing team, packaging and monetizing new and existing products, leading our shift from standard ad banners into more complex offerings including video, mobile, experiential and social platforms. The ideal candidate will and have a background in understanding and solving complex marketing challenges for brands with an obsessive focus on customer service.

What you'll do:

  • Recruit, lead and develop the West Coast Account Management team, responsible for flawless execution of media plan packaging and pricing, campaign execution and post-campaign analysis

  • Responsible for reviewing all pre-sale media plans before they’re submitted for client review

  • Help to establish and promote best practices / streamlined processes to ensure excellent collaboration (internally) and superior client support and communication (externally)

  • Assist with the development of new pricing and packaging strategies designed to reduce dependency on ad impressions and accurately capture the value of custom content creation

  • Identify new business opportunities and case studies based on analysis and feedback of tent pole campaigns

  • Work with finance to accurately forecast revenue, including both media and custom programs, and with the legal department to proactively work through potential hurdles

  • Lead the strategic planning of all large scale, upfront commitments for top Tier 1 West Coast clients

  • Meet regularly with other department leads on west coast (Sales, BE) to identify the needs of the business

  • Work with other Team Leads to build a team of culture and positive work environment

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in digital planning, ad sales, account management or similar

  • Experience and ability to lead and manage a team

  • Ability to think critically and possess strong organizational skills

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize work assignments, meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication skills to work with internal cross-departmental teams and clients

  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills

  • Must be extremely detail oriented

  • Experience of DFP, DFA, Mediavisor, Prisma is a must
