Associate Accountant

Summary of Responsibilities
 
·       Support the CFO and Director of Finance in carrying out the responsibilities of the finance department
·       Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and procedures
·       Ad hoc monthly and quarterly reports as needed
·       Run GL reports and explore transactions
·       Review company-wide time-sheets for accuracy and work closely with employees to ensure that time-sheets are complete
·       Follow up weekly on delinquent payments from customers

Accounts Payable

  • Receive and verify AP invoices and accuracy of billings
  • Track invoices against purchase requests in the system
  • Accurately code all of the AP bills, expense reports and credit card charges in the system
  • Print contractor hours reports and reconcile against invoiced amounts
  • Respond to vendor questions on payments
  • Maintain the vendor files
  • Create the monthly AP accrual report for missing vendor bills

Project Accounting for a selection of clients

  • Effectively communicate with Project Managers regarding gathering contract documents, change orders and any other contract related documents
  • Set up projects, revenue and billing rules in the system
  • Ensure project records are SOX compliant
  • Update the system with weekly revenue forecasts
  • Prepare billings according to payment terms and payment schedules outlined in the service agreements
  • Create and distribute hours and client reports for billing purposes and in support of the revenue each month
  • Post daily client payments in two different financial systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 1 year of public Accounting Experience, Big 4 preferred
  • Good working knowledge of Accounting principles and practices
  • Quick learner who is enthusiastic about learning new things
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well in a team or independently in a very fast-paced environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce clean, accurate and timely work deliverables
