Brigade's (brigade.com) promise to our users is being *the* place to learn about when you can vote, what's on your ballot, how those choices will affect you, and which choices best align with your personal values and priorities. We're a small startup focused on civic engagement - putting people back at the center of democracy. We have built a dedicated place for voters, constituents, and community members to talk about the issues that are important to them, connect with other people who value the same things, and work together to make changes in legislation, policy, and their communities.
As an analyst at Brigade, you will be the authority on what is happening with data in our company. Zeppelin Notebooks and SQL queries will be your primary tools to interpret data and provide reports that answer questions that have and have not been asked yet. Analysts at Brigade are stewards of our schemas, denizens of our databases. They work on the data team with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Leadership. On the day to day, Analysts will work directly with engineers on the data team to transform our data into more useful formats, both to perform better analysis as well as to make our product better. Driving machine learning efforts to make better recommendations, understanding political views to connect like-minded people, and finding new ways of turning them out, are a few examples of the types of projects that data analysts at Brigade will undertake as well as working directly with product managers who perform much of their own data analysis (frequently in SQL and Scala).
