The Gobble Culinary Team is seeking a "roll up your sleeves", passionate, meticulous, full-time Senior Recipe Writer. The Senior Recipe Writer will work between our Test Kitchen and our Corporate HQ to help create and test the recipes we send out to our member families every week. We help make cooking easy for people who may have never cooked before. The ideal candidate will have both an extensive knowledge of—and a deep passion for—food and the super ability to translate recipes between an Executive Chef and an 8-year-old. They will also be supremely detail-oriented, an exceptional co-worker, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
The Recipe Writing Team works directly on Gobble’s core product. We work closely with our chefs to ensure that recipes are of the highest possible quality, precisely and easily replicable, and free of error—through multiple, rigorous stages of development and testing. We work closely with our Purchasing and Quality Teams to ensure that ingredients are described accurately in the recipe and can be sourced at scale—and to plan around long-term contracts, food costs, and ingredient volatility.
Above all, you will be tasked with the cooking success, at home, of thousands of families every day who are relying on us for fresh dinner kits and foolproof cooking instructions.
We have all been there - eating take out or unhealthy food, forgetting what it is like to prepare a healthy amazing meal for our family or friends, wanting to take care of ourselves, but just not having the time.
Ooshma Garg, CEO/Founder, was feeling just that as she sat at the helm of her previous start-up. "..., my health was becoming compromised. I was working 24/7, eating Taco Bell and chicken nuggets every day. I was mentally stressed and physically unhealthy. I grew up eating home-cooked food every night: my dad cooked amazing, very nutritious Indian food from scratch. It came to a point where my parents were so worried that they offered to move to California to help make sure I was eating right! I finally said, OK, I know I’m not the only one with this issue. I need to solve this problem."
So, the idea for Gobble was born. Gobble started in 2010 as a food-sharing program and evolved into the concept of 10 minute, one pan, wholesome, gourmet dinner kits that it is today. The Company hired Michael Mina protege, Thomas Ricci, as Executive Chef in early 2014. The dinner kit concept was launched in August 2014 and has taken off.
