Director, Business Development & Account Management – NYC Start-Up

A Start-up within a Start-up

We are seeking a proven sales leader who can step into a successful start-up and build sales from the ground up. You will be selling executive search services to institutional investors as well as sponsorships for our various events.

Are you a true sales executive that understands the nuisances that come along with selling a new service? Can you grow and manage pipeline while exceeding targeted sales quotas for a start-up?

Commissions are uncapped, the more you sell the more you earn.


A start-up within a start-up means responsibilities can change and continuously evolve

Create sales and marketing plans to strategically position Trusted Insight’s services at all decision-making levels within LP’s.

Build the retained/contingent search practice of Trusted Insight.

Establish and maintain relationships with key decision makers within Investment, Finance and Human Resources functions across institutional investors to assess hiring needs.

Fostering new leads through extensive email and phone outreach to contacts in our CRM database.

Effectively follow-up with prospects to develop business through phone contact, email, and face-to-face meetings.

Work with internal teams to understand market activity as well as generate lead generation strategies.

Sell sponsorship packages to C-Level executives.

Grow and maintain a client pipeline, manage sales cycle from start to close


Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum of 2+ years of B2B executive search, recruitment, account management or sponsorship sales experience

Proven track record of success

Experience working in a search firm and/or corporate talent acquisition capacity

Comfortable with performing cold calls and delivering professional presentations

Understanding of how to navigate through complex organizations

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Previous experience utilizing CRM database systems to keep track of leads.

Ability to build rapport with High Level Investment & HR professionals

Hunter Mentality that does not discourage easily

Working in a quota carrying role

Preferred Experience:

Previous experience working in a startup environment

Knowledge of Private Equity / Institutional Investing
