Rider Retention Manager

The company was founded in 2013 because co-founder, Will Shu, was fed up with London’s poor quality and slow food delivery options. Will and his friend Greg Orlowski set to work to build something better.

They brought technology together with the nation’s best-loved restaurants to get high-quality restaurant food to customers fast. In an average of 30 minutes, Deliveroo’s ‘Roos’ - self-employed cyclists and motorcyclists - bring the likes of Busaba Eathai, Carluccio’s, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, and MEATliquor, to customers’ homes and offices.

Deliveroo is now in over 100 cities across the world and armed with investment from the likes of Accel and Index Ventures, Deliveroo is growing at phenomenal speed.

  • Be responsible for developing strategies to maximize the retention rate of our rider base. This may be designing, developing and A/B testing CRM campaigns to see which are most effective in re-engaging riders, or developing processes to enable our riders to continue working with us on different work patterns or in a different locations.
  • Think creatively to develop & test new initiatives that you believe can increase our retention rate.
  • Be focused on reducing the percentage of our rider base that stops working with us, and increase the percentage of our lapsed rider base that restarts working with us.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the rider onboarding systems and database, in order to formulate your strategy. You will be expected to be constantly reviewing and testing your strategies to make better and better decisions.
  • Work closely with the Rider Community team to increase the engagement and loyalty of riders over time, but your key focus will be testing commercial initiatives to influence rider behaviour.
  • 1-2 years marketing or agency experience
  • A self-starter attitude that’s comfortable with constant change
  • Proven track record in making things happen - delivering results quickly and efficiently
  • A creative problem solver who can think things through analytically
  • A proactive, can-do attitude, full of great ideas and able to get stuff done autonomously
  • Significant commercial awareness, thinking through a ROI perspective and ability to quickly differentiate most impactful tasks/projects
  • Ability to influence and manage multiple stakeholders
