Job Description:

This position is for an entry-level Paralegal. We are seeking an individual who brings a desire to learn new things, and has an interest in legal research. Under the direction of the Senior Corporate Paralegal, this person will conduct numerous tasks, including vetting prospective customers, conducting 50 state surveys relating to the licensing requirements of a broad range of healthcare provider types, and assisting with finalizing non-disclosure agreements. He or she should be knowledgeable with the tools available to conduct thorough legal research. The successful candidate has strong analytical skills necessary to “read between the lines” when reviewing federal and state laws and regulations. This position is based in our corporate offices located in Alexandria, Virginia.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform research to obtain information such as background on a prospective customer.
  • Prepare non-disclosure agreements for prospective customers.
  • Analyze state and federal laws and regulations regarding licensing requirements of healthcare provider types.
  • Organize and maintain an internal library of state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Monitor and advise the Senior Corporate Paralegal of any legislative developments impacting state licensing requirements of healthcare provider types.

 Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree; or a Paralegal Certificate and two or more years’ paralegal experience.
  • Ability to operate at a high level with minimum supervision, make decisions in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize matters and meet deadlines.
  • Hard working and inquisitive.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and problem solving skills.


Preferred Experience:

  • Legal research experience.
  • Two years’ work experience in a legal department or similar professional environment.
