Community Manager (London)

London, United Kingdom

Entrepreneur First is one of Europe’s leading early stage investors. We invest in the world’s best computer scientists, engineers and researchers and help them build deep tech companies from scratch. The companies we’ve built in London over the last four years are worth over $400m today.

Community Manager

Your mission.

To inspire and engage the best engineers in Europe, building awareness about the opportunity to build a startup with EF. You’ll be responsible for championing EF’s brand within the London startup scene and within developer communities across the continent.

The role.

We’re looking for a Community Manager to help grow EF’s brand and encourage the best engineers (and student engineers) to start companies. This is essentially a community-facing role to help EF build its brand amongst the best developers. You’ll be the eyes and ears ‘on the ground’ - gathering first-hand insights about our customers and helping them to kick-start their startup journeys with EF. You’ll report into our London Talent Manager and will play a core role in driving the quantity and quality of applicants to EF.

This is a great role for engineers who enjoy building technical communities and have started, or will start their own company in the near future.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Building EF’s marketing strategy, including managing our content calendar and social media, as well as the EF newsletter.
  • Attending, sponsoring and hosting relevant community events.
  • Discovering new opportunities to increase engagement with EF.
  • Running internal EF events to engage alumni and the EF community.
  • Website management.
  • Evangelising the Entrepreneur First programme and community - engaging with and identifying high-potential individuals and encouraging them to apply for the programme.
  • Collecting feedback and intelligence on our customers - work with the wider team to use this information to drive the evolution of our talent platform and programmes.
  • Having an online presence through online channels (Hacker News, Reddit, StackOverflow, Github, EF Blog).
  • Relationship management of our press and PR contact.

Skills and experience required:

  • Community management experience: engaging technical communities and running technical events.
  • Ability to talk confidently with developers, and can explain complex technology in simple language.
  • Track record of self-driven side projects.
  • Proven contributions to technical communities online.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset - you’re thinking about the company you’re going to build.
  • Enjoys travelling and attending events (sometimes during evenings and weekends).

Bonus points for:

  • Experience building a startup.
  • Technical background.
  • Open source contributions.

What you’ll get:

  • Opportunity to travel nationally and across Europe.
  • Office hours with founders in our network to help you grow your own startup ideas.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Feedback and progress reviews every 6 months.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Generous holiday allowance (+ additional 2 week shutdown over Christmas period)
  • Book/training/conference allowance
