 Position Summary

GSE Systems, Inc. is seeking a Systems Administrator to assist with the design, implementation, configuration and maintenance of new and/or existing servers, networks and systems (physical and virtual).   The Systems Administrator will provide effective and timely support for internal customers with system support services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of network systems
    • AD, domains, trusts, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, group policy objects, scripts, synchronization/replication services, and user/file administration – on premise and in the cloud.
  • Assist in the administration of software development and application servers including any automation tasks necessary for configuration management and application deployment
  • Support server virtualization (e.g. building/testing, installation, deployment and management)
  • Assist in managing system backups (backup policies, scripting, etc.)
  • Work with technical resources and partners to resolve technical issues
  • Analyze and assess employees’ service request and provide prompt technical solutions


  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of related IT experience
  • Experience configuring and supporting IT networks including managing AD, DNS, Group Policies, VPN, etc.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining storage solutions 
  • Experience with help desk ticketing systems, escalations and commonly used business applications
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with effective communication skills
  • Strong scripting skills
  • Experience with provisioning and configuration management tools is preferred
  • Experience with AWS is a plus
