About the QA Team

QA’s main role at if(we) is to be the owners of quality efforts.  Working to provide assistance on this quality effort, QA ensures an excellent user experience which is also definable and highly visible.  Internally, QA provides tools and training to speed up and support the development process in order to deliver output that is 'on quality'. Overall, QA engages itself in planning and actions with the eventual goal of complete continuous deployment models.

About the Job

The successful manager will be obsessed with quality improvement, experienced, and highly committed to creating high-performance, reliable automation for regression and feature testing. The manager will be able to develop and drive a high-level test strategy, as well as take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, retain and motivate strong QA analysts and engineers
  • Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels
  • Design QA automation strategy and guide QA team through implementation
  • Implement QA best practices in the organization, including practices around test case authoring and maintenance
  • Work closely with engineering teams to enable QA team to design test methodologies
  • Work closely with Operations and RE in defining QA environments
  • Participate in release coordination meeting to increase awareness of Quality issues and concerns
  • Define internal processes to increase awareness of Quality concerns, test coverage and code coverage across all products
  • Implement, gather, and report team and project metrics which demonstrate business value and show continuous improvement
  • Be an experienced and mentoring manager who can grow an organization and ensure it performs

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • 7+ years of industry experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on testing and 2 years as a manager
  • Knowledge of QA concepts and methodology, particularly around scrum and agile development
  • Experience working with product management at senior management level
  • Experience with SCM tools (Git/Stash preferred) and bug reporting/tracking tools (JIRA preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast moving and growing environment
  • Ability to attract and hire great talent
