Every brand has an identity, and as the Brand Manager of Curbed, you will be responsible for successfully communicating that identity to our advertising partners and our audience. As Brand Manager, your core responsibility will be to comprehensively plan, develop, and direct marketing efforts to increase the market value and brand relevance of Curbed. Mapping against revenue goals, you will drive marketing and brand building initiatives, partnerships, large revenue opportunities and overall positioning of the brand. This role will have a direct impact on the success of Curbed as a business and will be measured by the ability to grow both brand relevance and revenue. Ideal candidates for this position will be passionate about Curbed and deeply knowledgeable about the home and shelter space and media industry. This position will report to the Executive Director of Brand Marketing and is based in New York City.

What you’ll do:

  • Determine brand vision, objectives, and goals
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategy that map back to this vision
  • Align marketing strategy with revenue strategy
  • Perform regular competitive analysis and quarterly business reviews
  • Communicate competitive information and insights back to editorial and revenue teams in a way that is actionable  
  • Lead marketing and revenue strategy efforts that will achieve ambitious goals
  • Conduct regular industry research in order to anticipate market trends, which will inform editorial and revenue decisions

What you’ll bring:

  • 4+ years experience in brand marketing or related field  
  • Deep knowledge of the home and shelter world
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in developing and executing successful marketing strategies
  • Creative thinking; you are someone who enjoys executing an idea from start to finish
  • Strong work ethic with a positive and proactive attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to ideate and create sales materials  
  • Experience working with multiple teams and all aspects of a program
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Incredibly high standards and great taste
  • Proven knowledge of and love for Curbed
