JOB SUMMARY

 

We’re looking for a Director of PR and Communications to shape and sell the Kobalt story through compelling and effective internal and external communications.  Working closely with the CMO and a growing marketing team you will leverage our people, technology and achievements to develop Kobalt’s brand positioning and reputation in the global tech, business and music community.

 

WHAT DOES A DIRECTOR OF PR AND COMMUNICATIONS AT KOBALT DO?

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • PR & communications strategy and planning
  • Media relations – specifically growing our brand in the tech space and developing our music industry standing as a disruptor
  • Influencer relations – spotting them internally and externally and building a partnership
  • Plan and implement a communications schedule – including key messaging, story pitches and placement, bylines and quotes, press releases and interviews
  • Act as a primary owner of the Kobalt brand voice/personality to ensure that it is consistent and accurate across all assets, channels and consumer touchpoints
  • Collaboration with content, creative and marketing teams on integrated campaigns
  • Help drive digital strategy and process for communications across Kobalt’s website, blog, and social media channels
  • Establish and report on PR KPIs across various traditional and digital channels
  • Ensure internal employees are inspired, informed and connected through communication of major news, initiatives, and achievements
  • Work with local office teams for local announcement and PR initiatives
  • Participation in brainstorms and big idea development for marketing and PR communications strategy

 

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

  • 6+ years of PR and communications experience, for a PR or marketing agency with recognizable tech clients or in house for a high growth tech business
  • B2B Media Relations experience with a network of media contacts in the tech industry and an enthusiasm to develop new contacts in the business, and or music industry press
  • Impeccable campaign management skills and an ability to build trusted relationships with our most senior executives and stakeholders
  • Recognizes the value of using internal staff, senior management and clients partners as ambassadors
  • A digital native who can show evidence of success using multiple channels
  • Expert editor and writer with an ability to use creative content to draft press releases and promote a story 
  • A passionate, creative and driven individual who is not afraid to think outside of the box and happy to pick up the phone to a journalist or reporter
  • A self-starter who can initiate and drive a wide variety of projects, react to market trends or deal with a crisis
  • A passion for technology, disruptive business models and love of music is a plus
