The Role

SurveyMonkey’s product portfolio includes Wufoo, the leading provider of online forms used by more than a million people around the world. Each month, Wufoo collects more than 13 million responses and processes more than $36MM in payments, and we’re just getting started.

We are looking for team lead for our Wufoo product, who will be leading our Wufoo Ottawa engineering team. As our engineering leader for Wufoo in Ottawa, you will be responsible for managing and providing technical guidance to the team, working closely with our product managers, fellow software developers and designers to build new features and enhance current offerings in Wufoo.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage Wufoo Ottawa engineering team effectively. Make sure the team is consistently deliver readable, maintainable and efficient code.
  • Work effectively with engineering and product team in Palo Alto.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members, at the same time being hands on with coding and problem solving.
  • Solve unique, complex, high scale technical problems.
  • Staying informed of new tools, libraries, and best practices and sharing ideas with the team for continuous improvement of the tool-chain and development process.


Essential Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of software development experience; 2+ years of team leading, management experience.
  • Exceptional coding abilities and experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale Web applications.
  • Deep knowledge and rich experience in delivering large scale web application with multiple dependencies across teams.
  • Deep knowledge in software design standard methodologies.
  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of PHP or Python and experience working with the relevant tools.


  • Track record in building incredible engineering teams.
  • Actively coached and mentored team members in their careers.
  • Independently started self-sustaining teams.
