Fundraising Officer

The HALO Trust (USA) is seeking a Fundraising Officer to work in its Washington, D.C. office to support the organization’s major gifts program.

The HALO Trust employs over 6,500 people in 19 countries to create safe and secure environments in war torn communities by clearing landmines, managing stockpiles of weapons and destroying unexploded ordnance.


The Fundraising Officer supports the work of The HALO Trust (USA)’s fundraising team, which focuses on raising major gifts and grants from foundations, corporations and individuals to support the life-saving work of HALO’s overseas operations.

This role requires a resourceful and efficient team-player who excels at prioritizing and will provide support to two major gifts fundraisers and the Executive Director. The individual should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the non-profit sector and a good knowledge of Salesforce, or fundraising CRM will be essential.


  • Manage donor records and correspondence in Salesforce, and generate activity and progress reports as required.
  • Generate routine donor correspondence and assist in the preparation of grant applications and reports.
  • Conduct research in support of the fundraising team.
  • Schedule donor meetings and assist with travel administration.
  • Assist with event planning and organization.
  • Work with overseas programs to collect material for reporting and communication with donors.
  • Work closely with colleagues in the USA, UK and overseas programs as part of a distributed team to provide support to global fundraising efforts.
