The role: 

We’re hiring a part time Office Assistant with a friendly personality and strong organizational skills that can give our office some TLC and make it a happy place to work. This individual must have excellent attention to detail, the ability to problem solve, juggle multiple tasks, and adjust work accordingly to adapt to deadlines. This is a great role that could expand for the right person with a chance to make a difference in an innovative company. This position will report to the Head of Administration and Office Coordinator and the full extent of what you will be doing will ultimately depend on you so you should be someone who is flexible and excited to do whatever it takes! This role will require you to be able to lift 25lbs.

Meaningful Things You’ll Do:

  • Welcome visitors
  • Keep refrigerator stocked
  • Make coffee
  • Answering and managing phone system
  • Organize kitchens and office space
  • Keep office spaces tidy and presentable
  • Food ordering and receiving on needed basis
  • Breakfast/lunch prep and cleanup
  • Errands (food shopping, pick ups for supplies)
  • Sort and deliver mail, FedEx and UPS
  • Putting away leftovers and unloading dishwasher on a daily basis
  • Arrange entryway flowers every Monday morning and water plants
  • Put away and organize food from Amazon orders
  • Some remote work may be required in our other office sites (San Jose and Hayward)

Education and Experience: 

  • Great communication and people skills
  • Ambitious drive to hit the ground running from day one
  • Your own car to run errands (mileage reimbursed)
  • Can do attitude where no job is too small
  • Tech Savvy (PC, iMac and Google Docs) a plus

What We Offer:

  • A great entry level job which offers exposure to a startup in the bio-tech industry
  • Part time: Mon 8am-11am and Tuesday-Friday 8:30am-11am (15-20 hours weekly as needed)

Our corporate office is in San Mateo and the remote-controlled lab is in the South Bay.
