Michael Perry, Director of Kit, recently shared his conversation with Kit regarding a new role opening up in the downtown San Francisco office.
MP: Hi Kit.
K: Hi Michael, I am caught up on my marketing tasks and I feel ready to get things going in recruitment. To best position us for success, we need to discuss what role you would like me to work on. Do you have a role in mind? 1. Yes 2. No
K: Perfect. My goal is to understand what kind of person you’re looking for and where we might find them. Can we skip the yes/no questions and get a bit more personal? 1. Yes 2. No
K: Great. Why don’t you tell me about the role.
MP: Kit - you more than anyone understand your role in the lives of our merchants. Marketing is tough and you help merchants manage their marketing tasks so that they can focus on doing what they love: creating incredible products. You’re their first hire (and the #1 hire imo).
K: Thanks Michael. I know what I do - what is your next hire going to do?
MP: See that’s the thing. My next hire is all about you. Since you’re currently available to hustle for over 325,000 Shopify merchants (and are looking to do more), I’m looking for someone to be your voice across many channels, letting future and current merchants know about your power.
K: Everyday I’m hustling :musical_note:
MP: LOL! Good one, Kit. I also want this person to be the link to our product team - letting us know what merchants are saying about your work and their businesses.
K: Got it. What type of experience are you looking for?
MP: We’re looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, creative writing ability and a willingness to learn all things marketing. But most importantly, this person needs to be passionate about this unique opportunity. It’s not every day that you get the opportunity to work on the world’s first virtual employee.
K: Awesome. Let us work on getting a game plan together and I will follow up with you on the first great candidate we see. If you need me, just say “Hi”
MP: Thanks Kit.
