About TechValidate

TechValidate, a SurveyMonkey company, is a fast-growing, marketing software business located in Emeryville. We are a B2B SaaS business with hundreds of customers including IBM, GE, SAP, Dell, HP, Citrix, Dropbox, as well as smaller companies. We have a unique offering that automates the creation of marketing content based on the voice of real users.  In August of 2015, we were acquired by SurveyMonkey, and operate as an independent division of SurveyMonkey (big company resources, with start-up culture and speed).

The Role

As an Account Executive, you will generate and close new business.  You will conduct 30-minute consultation calls, hour-long demos, and closing deals (negotiation, vendor onboarding processes, contracts).  There is also a sizable component of prospecting involved – you will need to generate 30-50% of your opportunities (the rest will come from Sales Development Representatives).  You will also be responsible for forecasting sales activity and revenue achievement.

Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated teammate with high social intelligence and a natural inclination for selling. They are very driven and can show evidence that they thrive in an ambitious, merit-based environment.  This is a rigorous role – strong work ethic and a willingness to invest time in training and development is key.



  • Meeting and exceeding prospecting and revenue/bookings targets
  • Researching high profile companies and conducting outreach to CMOs, VPs, and Directors of Marketing
  • Experienced in a solution approach to selling and adept at helping customers discover value (we’re Sandler trained)
  • Prioritizing opportunities and applying appropriate resources
  • Discipline in documenting various details per our sales template in our CRM –


Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 1-4 years of experience in a Business-to-Business organization in an Inside Sales with at least 6 months of “closing” experience.  Prospecting ability (cold calls, email outreach, linkedin messages) also required since you will need to generate some of your own opportunities.
  • Prior experience selling a Software as a Service (SaaS) offering and general knowledge of the technology industry/landscape.
  • Excellent instincts for conversing with technology executives and ability to think on the fly
  • Strong work ethic – can commit to a 6-month new hire training program and possess the desire to master the art of selling.
  • Fluency in English along with excellent phone skills, phone etiquette, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.  Good computer/LinkedIn/email skills a must.
  • BA/BS degree is preferred




TechValidate is located a quick counter-commute from San Francisco. Our offices are located in a vibrant neighborhood of Emeryville ( 5900 Hollis Street ), and it is easily accessible via BART and the Emery Go-Round, a free shuttle that stops directly in front of TechValidate.
