Sales Engineer - APAC

About the job:

  • Twilio Sales Engineers equip prospects and customers to successfully implement Twilio's APIs as part of enterprise software projects. As the primary technical contact for a diverse customer base, Twilio Sales Engineers are highly competent IT/software generalists who share knowledge during all stages of the software development lifecycle.
  • The Solutions Architect role is an inside/outside role, with an estimated 10% - 25% travel.
  • Based in Singapore.


  • Together with an Enterprise Account Executive, educate prospects and customers on what is possible with Twilio and our cloud-based Two-factor Authentication (2FA) solution. Share best practices for implementing common use cases.
  • Understand customer requirements and communicate the business value of solving technology problems using cloud communications technology.
  • Prepare demos and proof-of-concepts to demonstrate various use cases for Twilio's and Authy's APIs.
  • Guide the design and deployment of enterprise communications systems that impact multiple functional areas of a customer’s organization.
  • Document the architectural solutions that customers have designed and deployed.
  • Distill and communicate customer needs to Twilio’s and Authy's Product Management groups.
  • Position yourself as a thought leader in the communications space. Prepare talks for industry events. Collaborate on blog posts, technical articles and other content with Twilio’s and Authy's marketing and PR groups.


  • 5+ years of technical selling experience in enterprise software, SaaS, or web services.
  • Mobile or Cloud Security experience.
  • Professional modern coding experience.
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding quota.
  • Success selling to leading customers that trust and respect you.
  • Comfortable selling to developers and technical buyers within online services and enterprises.
  • A college degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate computer code leveraging REST APIs
  • Hands on, high energy, passionate, creative problem solver with know how to get things done and ability to lead others to success.
  • Self-driven and independent, and also a major team contributor.
  • Awesome communicator and presenter able to gain audience confidence through deep competence and credibility.
  • Mobile or Cloud Security experience.
  • Professional modern coding experience.
  • Sold products or services targeted at developers for cloud-based SaaS services.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or a comparable field is preferred.

Bonus points:

  • iOS and Android programming experience.
  • Experience with call centers and/or IVRs from a technical perspective.
