Team Lead:  Senior Technical Designer

What you will do around here …

This person will partner with their Senior Technical Designer and patternmakers to translate design’s vision into a finished product.  They will be assigned their own product and will be involved in fitting and communicating the outcome using both visual and verbal communication via tech packs.

You can expect to…

  • Organize and prioritize daily workload of assigned product to maintain production calendar
  • Monitor and maintain fit, construction, and workmanship standards for your product category and ensure consistency across all factories.
  • Develop and create technical design packages to communicate requirements to achieve Design aesthetic, fit and construction.
  • Fitting Preparation: Measure, evaluate fit sample submit (construction, execution). This will also include having the complete style history to be presented in the fitting.
  • You will conduct your product category fitting with the support of the Sr. Technical Designer
  • Analyze and communicate the outcome of fitting with internal cross functions as well as the factory
  • Communicate with vendors regarding fit, specs, grading issues and construction via fit comments
  • Works closely with Senior Technical Designer/Technical Designer to advance technical knowledge and to elevate the quality of the product.

To join our team you must have…

  • 4-Year College Degree: Preferred with training in Technical Design

  • 2-3 years in the apparel industry in technical design and/or pattern making

  • Product focus should be a balance of cut and sew and woven; exposure should consist of but not be limited to Tops - Blouses – Dresses – Skirts

  • Strong basic understanding of fit, balance and garment construction, and fabric reaction

  • Able to work with quarter scale and/or full scale patterns communicating fit corrections

  • Computer: Proficiency in MS office (Excel/Word/Outlook), Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)
