Manager/Senior Manager Digital Marketing

The successful incumbent will be based in the Tillster Los Angeles, CA business operations center, and for the first 12 months will travel up to 50% of the time primarily to Toronto, Canada.

We are growing at an amazing rate and our team is seeking an experienced Digital Marketing [Senior] Manager to work with one of our globally prominent customers, as well as our internal marketing team, to build out a broad-based digital marketing initiative in Canada.  This team member will be building a new way of engaging with our customer that will be leveraged across other customers in our portfolio.

We are looking for an exceptional digital marketer to help execute and deliver the vision for our core platform expansion, as well as work with this customer in achieving their brand initiatives.  This role is the key marketing project owner for Tillster’s expansion, as well as handling digital initiatives on behalf of the brand more broadly.

This role demands a leader with the ability to self-manage, execute consistently, and obsession for attention to detail. We are looking for an engagement professional, who will drive initiatives that engage, retain and convert users cost effectively. Most of all, we are looking for a creative problem solver who knows how to collaborate with our internal team, our brand partner, their franchisees, and other eco-system players.

What you’ll do…

  • Drive strategy and execution of all email programs on behalf of the brand
  • Develop communications that support lifecycle initiatives, product launches and key promotions
  • Recommend cost effective promotions on behalf of the brand, designed to increase average check, frequency or adoption
  • Establish programs for driving significant e-commerce sales and adoption
  • Work with the Tillster team to create and execute A/B tests on an ongoing basis to improve site and email performance
  • Provide guidance on the brand site and email best practices
  • Work with Tillster’s data science team to understand metrics and take actions based on the data
  • Work with Tillster’s user engagement team to develop drip campaigns that increase new user retention
  • Work with the brand team to test new and advanced digital advertising programs and features with the ability to define, measure and identify successful tests and scale these programs
  • Work closely with the brand and their agency to ensure paid marketing programs are properly converting and report on success and opportunities
  • Provide support to the brand’s Director of Marketing on all digital programs.  Establish a cadence of communication within the brand organization and to the franchise community


Required skills & experience

  • Minimum 4+ years of email marketing experience
  • Minimum 3+ years e-commerce experience
  • Expertise in data-driven marketing and customer segmentation; you prefer making decisions based on deep analysis and hate misleading/inaccurate data
  • Knowledge of email best practices including subject lines, messaging, segmentation, list management, deliverability and CAN-SPAM/anti-spam laws
  • Proven track record of creating campaigns that drive conversions and minimize churn
  • Highly analytical and creative at the same time; a balance of creative and analytical mindset and interest
  • Ability to effectively communicate a strategy to internal and external stakeholders, then drive to execution
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to be self-directed
  • Advanced Excel skills required, SQL experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing or closely related field; Masters degree a plus


Additional desired skills & experience

  • Understanding of Canadian privacy and email rules
  • Ability to speak in front of others, conveying ideas and leading collaboration
  • Global brand marketing experience, multiple cultures, markets, languages
  • Able to live and work in Canada and the USA preferably without visa sponsorship (appropriate work visa sponsorship will be considered for the appropriately skilled and experienced individual)
