We’re Away. We make thoughtful objects for modern travel.

Thoughtfulness is key in everything we do. We’re looking for an equally thoughtful copywriter to join our team. This person’s words would be integral to how the brand thinks, speaks, and feels, both to the people inside the company and the people watching, reading, and interacting with us. Your words would touch and shape a breadth of materials and communications, from emails to ads to internal messaging and beyond. This is a great role for someone who relishes both freedom and responsibility, who is both creative and willing to learn new parameters in which that creativity can flourish.


You would report directly to our Head of Copy and work from our headquarters in Soho, NYC.


You're the right person for this role if you are:

  • Invested in words, but interested in working across other media and channels in visual and conceptual ways too
  • A critical and analytical thinker who can clearly articulate and communicate ideas
  • A team player who is eager to learn and collaborate. We believe the best ideas are shared ideas.
  • Eager to collaborate with other creatives and people from the business and marketing teams on any given project
  • Comfortable with taking initiative and working independently
  • Aware of the creative endeavors in the start-up and travel space, but interested in looking outside that world for inspiration


Some of the things you'd work on:

  • Write copy for digital marketing, including emails and ads; for web, revising old and developing new copy for new initiatives and launches; for physical stores, including invitations, product descriptions, and events.

You should have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in copy. A background in ecomm preferable.
  • An understanding of brand voice and a feel for who we are
  • A love of travel and an appreciation of its transformative power
