Senior Manager, Assortment Planning

  • Oversee bottom-up quarterly target setting and KPI achievement (sales, margin, and conversion)
  • Optimize in-season performance analyses to revise forecasts as well as identify areas of risk and opportunity, and create plans to mitigate or accelerate these
  • Advise development of planning and forecasting tools as well as in-season reporting and business review processes
  • Develop open-to-buy strategies to inform inventory management, as well as accompanying processes to manage product lifecycles and pricing to drive improved sales, profits and turns
  • Drive innovation within the Buying and Planning teams by proposing new methods to analyze and optimize the business
  • Partners with leaders across Buying, Marketing, Analytics and Site teams to develop and execute on business-driving insight and ensure alignment of assortment and company strategy
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional teams on company-wide initiatives such as optimizing shipping rates and promotional strategies


  • 7+ years in retail assortment & merchandising planning. Ecommerce experience preferred
  • Bachelor level degree; emphasis on business, finance, economics or mathematics preferred
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional analytic and quantitative capabilities and outstanding Excel skills
  • Experience in strategic forecasting for a multi-dimensional business
  • Requires complex decision making based on data, trends, and strategic goals; ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited data exists
  • Strong presentation skills in both written and oral communication
  • Excited to work collaboratively with a broad range of business partners; outstanding communication skills with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to learn reporting/data warehousing tools quickly. Experience with SQL, Tableau, and/or Looker would be a plus
  • Enthusiasm and aptitude for working in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment: highly self-directed, results-oriented and able to work at both strategic and tactical levels
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, a fast pace and changing priorities
