Where we need help?

This highly visible position reports to our co-CEO, and is responsible for leading the accounting, tax, cash, and financial reporting activities. Our Controller will implement the procedures, processes and systems to enable us to meet operational, reporting, and audit requirements as we absorb rapid growth and scale, and is a self-motivated, independent financial leader who can motivate their team and our entire organization to instill a culture of sound financial management. This person must be comfortable and adept in a start-up environment, analytical, detail-oriented, curious about all aspects of our business, and able to develop month-end financials and long-range business plans.

What does this job entail?

  • Create, coordinate, and evaluate the financial systems of the company to include budgeting, tax planning and financial reporting;
  • Manage monthly accounting close and cash flow management, and year-end close according to GAAP, including the preparation of financial statements and management reports;
  • Develop and implement finance, accounting, cash, billing, and auditing procedures;
  • Liaise with merchandising and operations teams to ensure effective cash management;
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements;
  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal controls
  • Manage cost accounting to ensure accurate product costing and inventory reporting;
  • Interact with other managers on budget management, and other financially oriented management recommendations;
  • Direct the implementation of operational plans according to budgets and a rapidly shifting business environment
  • Evaluate and implement systems and tools for scale
  • Help build a high impact and highly efficient finance team
