Financial Analyst, IR & Corporate Finance

This position, based in San Francisco, offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced high performance environment at Zynga, a leader in developing, marketing, and operating online social and mobile games (NASDAQ: ZNGA). This position requires strong financial modeling skills and in-depth understanding of the investment markets. You will work with the Manager of IR & Corporate Finance to provide operational and financial insight as to how to increase value by deeply understanding the business and modeling different scenarios. Your work will include both regular, repeating analyses as well as ad-hoc projects that will be presented to C-Level Executives and other operational leaders. You will also coordinate communications and meetings with investors, analysts, and internal business leaders and be responsible for the smooth running of the earnings process.

  • Eager to partner with cross functional teams across Zynga’s organizations to develop strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the company
  • Strong and proactive communicator (written & verbal), reliable and responsive to email and phone communications; able to (1) interface both internally and externally on behalf of the firm, and (2) work in partnership with team members on the road

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Build auditable and efficient financial models to analyze data and extrapolate historical trends into forward looking forecasts; automate running of different scenarios to understand the range of potential outcomes; document and manipulate model assumptions, drivers, metrics, and data sources to deliver key business insights
  • Review analyst models and document different valuation methods and drivers; build excel templates to track changes in analyst ratings, price targets, and estimates; compare analyst estimates to actuals, management guidance, Studio’s and FP&A team’s operating forecast
  • Perform competitive analysis of peers including understanding messaging, tracking key metrics, valuation and benchmarking financial performance
  • Build models for future share price analysis, business unit and/or M&A evaluation, profitability and margin improvement, capital allocation and any other ad-hoc financial analysis as needed 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in investment banking, consulting, research, and/or corporate finance
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience working with the technology or gaming sector preferred
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications is a must; experience with Oracle, Cognos, or IR Insight is a plus
