Localization Project Manager

The Localization Project Manager at MeetMe will be responsible for building and managing a quality control process for MeetMe’s localization efforts, so that our culturally diverse user base feels connected with our products, no matter which language they speak. To fill this new role, we’re looking for someone with a real passion for languages and cultures, empathy for users across the globe, and a strong eye for detail. 

What you will be doing: 

  • Evaluate the user experience on MeetMe in your fluent language(s).
  • Devise and maintain a process for evaluating the MeetMe user experience (including translation quality) in all other languages.
  • Collect and circulate user sentiment from our international users.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert with regard to market expectations for translation/localization quality.
  • Ensure translation quality, providing feedback to translation vendors as needed.
  • Build and maintain style guides and MeetMe glossaries. 
  • Conduct independent research and provide unique cultural insights and market expertise for global product development
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and QA analysts to ensure the needs of foreign-language users are heard and accounted for throughout the software development process.


What we are looking for: 

  • Native fluency in one or more of our most popular languages and strong familiarity with the associated culture(s): Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish, French, German, or Italian.
  • Knowledge of additional languages and cultures is a plus.
  • 3+ years experience in localization project management and/or managing Translation Style Guides, Glossaries and Memories.
  • Experience working on consumer-facing mobile apps is a plus.
  • Cross-functional experience working with engineers and product teams is highly preferred.
  • Degree in Applied Linguistics or Translation and/or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, work independently and be able to chart direction of projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple and diverse stakeholders throughout the organization.
