This role will work closely with the Content Licensing team to develop business model and licensing strategy, and also liaise with music partners, including major and independent labels.  The Partner Manager will work cross-functionally across the product, finance, marketing, legal, strategy, music makers and content licensing teams to ensure the proper administration of direct deals and overall management of direct deal partners.

Responsibilities will include assistance with content licensing business modeling and label negotiation strategy, day-to-day contact with partners as well as internal operations, fielding and prioritizing incoming partner requests, troubleshooting partner issues around reporting, content management, ingestion and matching, and creating formal reports (internal and external) on partner performance as well as summarizing and ensuring internal compliance with partner deals.  The Partner Manager will also be responsible for coordinating and conducting quarterly reviews and business updates for all key partners, including input from product, engineering, finance and marketing.  Location: Oakland or NY or LA


  • Content licensing business modeling in coordination with the finance team
  • Content licensing negotiation and presentation strategy
  • Manage and strengthen existing partnerships and expand strength of partner relations
  • Coordinate new partnership opportunities with music makers and product teams
  • Cross-functional resolution of partnership issues and business opportunities
  • Analyze and review performance metrics to identify trends and issues
  • Identify and implement best practices
  • Assist with training and implementation issues of label insights dashboard, in conjunction with product and music makers teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 4-6 years music industry related experience at a record label or digital music service
  • Strong music industry relationships
  • Comfortable with business models relating to content
  • Good technical know-how as well as comfort reading and analyzing legal contracts
  • Ability to multi-task and handle many priority requests simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills with respect to contracts, technical and financial matters
