Analytics Manager (Search Engine Marketing and Programmatic Traffic Acquisition)
The HomeAway Analytics andData Insights team is looking for an analytical and technically skilled leader to join our team. This position will be responsible for leading an analytics team that supports the global search engine marketing and programmatic traffic acquisition (SEM/PTA) teams. S/he will continue to raise the bar for the analytics function and will be a thought leader on data mining and analysis to develop insights that can materially improve our marketing investment decisions. This leader will evolve the existing team, and mentor analysts in supporting the SEM/PTA teams globally on their key initiatives.
This role reports to the head of the marketing and corporate analytics team and requires an individual with excellent statistical and analytical abilities and a deep knowledge of performance marketing and data engineering. The successful candidate will be a key partner to the SEM/PTA leaders and will use their out standing business acumen to align on priorities and consult on key decisions.
-Provide recommendations to theSEM/PTA teams on how to improve and drive marketing efficiency
-Develop new and innovative analyses to inform PTA roadmap as well as SEM decisions
-Inform new modeling projects to improve our ability to synthesize and extract insights from large volumes of data
-Work with the data engineering team to create world class reporting solutions
-Present findings and visualize data to a wide range of stakeholders
-Respond to ad hoc analytical questions from key partners re: marketing effectiveness
-Identify and scope new A/B/multivariate testing opportunities in marketing and advance our measurement of these tests
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally and drive results that meet requirements
-Prioritize and work independently with minimum guidance
-7+ years work experience in performance/growth SEM marketing analytics
-4+ years experience managing teams
-Degree in an analytical field (e.g.Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or Econometrics)
-Proven track record of solving complex business problems and communicating easily understood recommendations to teams for implementation
-Proficiency with SQL, SAS, R (or similar tools)
-Strong working knowledge of marketing metrics, attribution models, and advanced experimentation
-Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
-Masters or Ph.D. in a relevant field
-Background in consulting or relevant area –travel, real estate
-Familiarity with eCommerce, web analytics and big data and visualization platforms (egs: Datameer, Google Analytics, Adwords,Tableau, Micro Strategy)
