Position Description:

We are looking for an experienced front end software engineer to join the team that develops the UI for Okta’s Administrator Experience. Your work will be front and center to thousands of Okta customer administrators that drive Okta functionality for millions of end users. You will drive front end development of cross-cutting admin UI features and tools driving growth and core product metrics.

 

The ideal candidate will share our passion and great pride in the simple elegance and usability of our solution and will join an engineering team that strongly believes in UX design, automated testing, and an iterative process to build high-quality next generation enterprise software.

 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead UI development for new cross-cutting admin features and tools
  • Partner with Product Management and User Experience to Analyze/Refine Requirements with for front end features and UI
  • Lead development of UI for new product features
  • Work with engineering management and other back-end teams to scope and plan engineering efforts and dependencies
  • Interface with QA, Product Management, Technical Support, Documentation and UX

 

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

 

  • 3+ years of solid experience with Javascript and one of the major Javascript MVC frameworks (Backbone, Angular, Ember, React, etc.)
  • Working experience with HTML and CSS, including the ability to work around the nuances of the most popular browsers
  • Understanding and appreciation for TDD
  • Good grasp of software engineering principles and practices
  • Prior experience working on other UI technologies (e.g. JSP) highly desirable
  • Prior experience with or understanding of REST (or designing API’s) highly desirable
  • Experience with Java or other strongly typed languages a plus
  • Experience with any of the following is a plus: directory services (AD/LDAP), network security, encryption, authentication and authorization

Education and Training:

  • Bachelors Degree majoring in computer science or equivalent work experience
