Position Description:

The Unified Communications Manager provides audio video strategy and implementation for Okta and its workplace environments.

This position will be responsible for advancing unified communication strategies that align with defined workplace strategies to grow Okta physical environments around the world. He/She will be responsible for the implementation of video conferencing and all hands technologies, developing guidelines at scale, working closely with Okta’s IT team to support All Hands productions and supporting environments following implementation.  The role is also responsible for working with the IT team, to ensure systems support employee connectivity allowing them to work whenever and however they want.

The ideal candidate for this position is experienced with overseeing the work of technical staff, is process oriented, has demonstrated experience implementing a wide variety of platforms and is a champion of the transformation of Okta’s communication services. 

Required Qualifications

  • Expert understanding of Unified Communication technologies and strategies
  • Experience with Zoom, GoTo Meeting, Vidyo, RingCentral
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legacy VC systems and proposed future systems
  • Experience managing projects and resources to execute and deliver enterprise communications services
  • Participate in the development of Workplace strategies in collaboration with the IT team
  • Prepares recommendations and effectively manages costs for areas of responsibility
  • Directs the evaluation of various hardware and software and service resources to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential benefits
  • Manages day to day service operation
  • Experience in administering multiple telecommunications systems and vendor contracts in a multi-site environment
  • Experience managing capital and operating plans
  • Experience in managing 3rd party integrators as part of install and ongoing support
  • Strong background collaborating with business stake holders and IT teams

Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Information Technology) or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum seven years of experience supporting enterprise video conferencing, production environments, in multiple locations globally
  • License/Certification: CCNP, CCIE, MCSE or other specialty certifications are preferred
