Associate Buyer, Wayfair Promotions & Curation

The Wayfair Promotions & Curation Team is broadly tasked with engaging and exciting our customer. We maintain the everyday ‘conversation’ with her through key touchpoints, including marketing email, the homepage, the Sale page, and our print mail catalog. We tell stories through inspiring, curated product assortments that are both on-trend and competitively priced. We keep Wayfair.com fresh and exciting.


Our team’s Buyers collaborate closely with external supplier partners and internal teams to manage and implement promotional plans for Wayfair’s various home product categories. They conceptualize, design, and execute promotional sale events and curated assortments marketed to tens of millions of Wayfair customers. They travel to industry trade shows in hot spots like New York, Chicago, Dallas, and Las Vegas where they preview the latest home trends and build relationships with top home suppliers.


We’re seeking a Buyer to help us grow Wayfair’s business for a high-priority product category through planning and managing a portfolio of promotional sale events. In this role, you will design and curate category-specific promotions – sales that are both compelling and profitable – based on market trends and historical data. You will work alongside an incredibly talented, motivated team of Buyers & Buying Managers in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will own a growing supplier portfolio, and in doing so will negotiate discounted wholesale costs, secure inventory, and create strategic plans for product exposure.



  • Plan, produce, manage, and analyze a number of curated sale events per month to hit revenue and profitability targets
  • Maintain industry expertise, keeping abreast of seasonally-relevant trends and new product ideas
  • Maintain relationships with a portfolio of suppliers
  • Negotiate wholesale discounts in order to support best retail pricing in market during promotional events
  • Collaborate with Event Merchandising team to maximize conversion by improving customer experience
  • Collaborate with the Creative, Marketing, and Photography teams to design and shoot exclusive sale imagery
  • Analyze event performance data to determine areas of improvement
  • Analyze competitor marketing, selection, and pricing
  • Collaborate frequently with other departments (Category Management, Creative, Marketing, Merchandising, and Pricing) in order to drive revenue and profitability for your product category



  • Bachelor’s Degree with a strong academic record
  • Ability to thrive and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Flexibility and willingness to juggle multiple priorities, pivoting quickly as needed
  • Interest in developing negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills – experience with Excel pivot tables and/or SQL a plus
  • Innovative, outside-the-box problem-solving skills
  • Attitude of a true team player – positive, enthusiastic, helpful
  • Interest in retail, ecommerce, and home products
