Position:  GM of CastleGate Fulfillment Business
Reports to:  Chief Operating Officer
Location: Boston, MA

Wayfair is seeking a strong leader to manage and scale our CastleGate Fulfillment business for both the North American and European operations. Launched in 2010, CastleGate Fulfillment has become the #1 direct to consumer fulfillment business in home goods and trusted by more than 5,000 furniture and decor suppliers. The CastleGate platform pairs cutting-edge technology with unparalleled support to offer a complete suite of fulfillment services including warehousing and inventory management; pick, pack and ship; and custom product photography. With multiple warehouses throughout North America, we are able to guarantee 2-day delivery to over 90% of the country, improving your customer’s experience and boosting sales up to 50%.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a rapidly growing global business unit and offers extraordinary upside inside a multi-billion dollar global retailer. The right candidate will bring a true growth and GM mindset, have a combination of strategic and execution skills, experience building and managing large scaling teams, collaborative style, strong attention to detail, and can effectively sell and represent the business externally and internally.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute the strategy to achieve customer, revenue, operational and profitability goals
  • Develop overall commercial business development strategy and build the customer pricing models
  • Build, rapidly scale, and manage business development and account management teams
  • Lead new customer acquisition and management and growth of existing accounts
  • Attend industry trade shows (4-8 per year)
  • Managing the business including P&L, operational KPIs, and sales pipeline
  • Coordinate with the Operations team with the rapid build-out of the global distribution footprint and all key operational processes (US, Canada, Europe, Asia) to support this business
  • Define, sell and roll-out retailer managed inventory processes (forecasting & replenishment) with our customer base
  • Develop and manage all customer operations functions
  • Being the voice of the business, one must effectively communicate with senior executives and internal stakeholder including our COO and CEO as well as external suppliers
  • Work closely with senior management to accomplish achieve overall Wayfair company goals

 Key qualifications:

  • Experience in developing/launching/scaling new business/programs
  • Track record of successful relationship management and negotiation skills
  • Experience building and managing large scaling teams
  • Proven ability of delivering exceptional business results
  • Granular leadership, experience and comfort in executing strategy and demonstrating deep knowledge of the business detail
  • Clear evidence of collaboratively managing strategic initiatives across organizations and regions
  • Flexibility in approach that demonstrates the capability of working side-by-side with your first level hires to get the business off the ground as well as working with the Wayfair executive team
  • Comfortable thinking outside of the box to build structure around loosely defined projects.
  • High expectations of yourself and your team; a consistently high bar, and an appreciation for meritocracy
  • Operational oriented GM

 Profiles that may be especially well-suited for this role:

  • 5+ years of post-MBA experience from a top firm in a related field; focused on logistics or supply chain strategy or strategy consultants from a top-tier firm
  • Innovative leader in supply chain or logistics who is looking for an opportunity to launch and lead a new logistics business
  • Successful entrepreneurs or General Managers who have built similar or related product/service offerings, especially in the operations/logistics/supply chain space
