Wayfair is looking for a talented, enthusiastic and detail-oriented designer to join our team! The ideal candidate is a problem solver eager to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Applicants must have a creative portfolio that exhibits a deep understanding of typography, a flair for layout and a love of user-centered design.

Experience with branding, designing across multiple platforms and working cross-functionally is preferred for this position. Examples of web and mobile app design will be a strong advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop ideas and concepts into compelling, visual solutions ranging from branding to detailed customer experiences
  • Follow brand standards and design best practices closely
  • Be an organized team player, willing to jump in and help
  • Participate in the full life-cycle of a project — owning work from concept to development
  • Present work to creative team and business stakeholders
  • Pay close attention to design details
  • Generate both print and digital assets
  • Assist in project coordination on cross-functional teams
  • Work in a collaborative team environment
  • Work within designated budgets, timelines and client branding guidelines
  • Have good communication skills and a willingness to learn
  • Work closely with designers, product managers, UX specialists, front-end developers, engineers and other internal departments to gain knowledge of the existing storefront, implement new features, and improve existing features
  • Conceptualize and create pixel-perfect mockups from sketches, wireframes, and spec documents (and on occasion, out of thin air!)
  • Interpret needs, objectives, and direction from multiple sources to ensure design concepts meet brand standards and business goals
  • Communicate ideas and concepts clearly and concisely while quickly applying feedback and direction as needed
  • Act as a resource and thought partner to colleagues in other departments

 
Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in graphic design, visual communication, or related field
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of production experience
  • A solid understanding of design, color and typography
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (experience in Sketch is a plus)
  • Design experience including: branding, page layouts, information graphics, responsive design, user-centered design
  • Exceptional interpersonal, collaborative, and creative problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work, adhering to project timelines
  • An interest in online shopping/e-commerce
  • Ability to work with cross-functional partners
  • Ability to work on multiple deadlines
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced atmosphere
  • An affinity for current industry developments, design trends, and technologies
  • Basic understanding of social media platforms and design aesthetics
  • Ability to produce quality work under tight deadlines
  • Sense of humor
