Software Engineer III (Marketing Platforms - Customer Intelligence - Tracking)

Perform high-level web development for highly-trafficked e-commerce site; scale website to handle over one million unique visitors per day. Work with Big Data, Analytics and Marketing teams to develop and manage e-commerce systems.  Develop large systems using PHP and/or Python in support of e-commerce sites, internal applications and supplier extranet. Perform MS SQL database design, development and performance optimization.  Develop web applications using Java technologies.  Work with multiple business stakeholders and other client-side technology teams to create next-generation site features; engage in high-level client side architecture discussions.  Perform code reviews and train and mentor junior engineers.  Plan and execute all phases of the software development lifecycle using Agile SCRUM methodology.

Master of Science degree in engineering, computer science, information systems (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus 2 years’ experience performing Java, PHP and SQL design and development or, alternatively, a Bachelor's degree and five years of experience as stated above. Also requires, demonstrated expertise utilizing PHP for web development to build e-commerce platforms and code website logic; performing JavaScript development for front-end web browser to collect and report on trading data; utilizing Java for building large scale backend applications in an enterprise setting; performing SQL development including stored procedures, triggers and data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL); performing Kafka design and development including message broker to enable messaging across various systems such as e-commerce websites and tracking systems; performing Apache Storm development to create logic to read and react to messages; and interfacing with product managers to gather requirements, and translating requirements into technical architecture.
