Manager, Promotional Strategy & Analytics

Wayfair is seeking an analytical individual with strong business instinct, an interest in home furnishing product, and excellent cross-functional collaboration skills to be a Manager on the Event Assortment Planning team. This position will be dedicated to delivering a superb customer experience by making product offering decisions informed by our wealth of browsing and purchasing data. Using real-time analytics, Assortment Planning works with both Wayfair and AllModern teams to optimize the primary customer-facing channels in order to maximize long-term customer engagement and profitability.

This is an opportunity to work on an exciting, fast-growing initiative within an established company alongside an engaged and talented team. The focus is on promotions and marketing, although the project involves many cross functional partners in various departments within the company. The team is also focused on answering big-picture questions that will have material impact on program strategy, for example: What price point gaps exist in our seasonal décor selection? How do we measure performance of imagery in email? Are we over or under assorted on accent pillows? What styles are most popular for bedroom furniture? How do we improve our merchandising decisions between mobile & desktop? A qualified candidate must be comfortable working with large data sets and relying on business acumen to form and test hypotheses. The candidate should have a bias for action, an interest in seeing their findings instituted, and an enthusiasm for communicating business objectives to many cross-functional teams. Interest in home products and interior design concepts is a plus. Job Responsibilities

  • Understand levers that drive top & bottom line, traffic, conversion and how to manipulate them
  • Identify short- & long-term strategies to grow the business & communicate findings with cross-functional teams & leadership
  • Analyze event and category performance and drive the analytical development of the team
  • Identify opportunities to broaden selection (styles, product types, suppliers, price points)
  • Manage direct reports & peers to iterate and execute on a plan

Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of experience in a data-focused, quantitative role
  • A bachelors in economics, math, statistics, business or related field is a plus; MBA’s welcome
  • Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems with an affinity for data
  • Positive, people-oriented, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to spot trends (new products, brands, styles) in the marketplace
  • Knowledge of, or interest in learning SQL
