Wayfair’s Operations Product Innovation team is looking for a motivated, self-driven Business Analyst for our Supplier Extranet platform to manage and oversee the triaging of critical issues, technical bugs and drive resolutions for them. You will be working cross-functionally with our Suppliers, Internal stakeholders, other Project Coordinators and Engineers directly in order to define issues, manage user expectations, test technical fixes and ensure software releases are working as expected. This role provides the opportunity to manage immediate and impactful work performed on the Extranet.

 

Who we are: Operations Product Innovation is an internal consulting team that seeks to make things run more efficiently by using technology.  We analyze the operations of our business and find opportunities to improve customer experience and reduce costs.  Then we work with our engineering to team to build systems to realize those opportunities. The Supplier Extranet Platform provides our external partners with a portal to manage their Order Processing, Inventory, Pricing and Product updates.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and drive implementation of processes/tools for communicating critical issues to all Extranet Stakeholders and Suppliers throughout the lifecycle of an outage
  • Gather all details around critical issues impacting the Extranet and provide post-mortems to all relevant parties along with plans to avoid similar issues going forward
  • Coordinate with other analysts whenever issues arise outside of our tools to determine the best approach for resolution in order to lessen the supplier impact
  • Use data analytics, and other available tools to find patterns and help identify the root causes of recurring bugs to minimize them moving forward through technology and/or workflow changes 
  • Work closely with engineers to effectively triage and solve problems on the fly, QA those solutions and then roll them out to users on a daily basis
  • Manage and prioritize a queue of tickets that engineers will work on based on impact/scale of the existing issues
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency in daily workflow, improve the usability of our tools, and analyze root causes of recurring bugs
  • Answer day to day Supplier questions regarding the Supplier Extranet providing friendly, clear and prompt responses while setting expectations for solving their problem and following up to ensure satisfaction

  • Ability to work independently and motivated to move beyond existing practices
  • Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication skills
  • Technical and analytical aptitude or background (enough to be dangerous)
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • A basic understanding of application database and system design, though no coding experience is needed 
  • Creative thinking and constant desire to make processes better 
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Attention to detail 
  • An interest in working hard and being challenged in a fast-paced environment, while having fun doing it  
  • An easy-going, positive attitude and a sense of humor
