Project Manager, Data Integration

Wayfair is looking for an experienced project manager and tech-savvy professional to join our Data Integration team. This person will act as a project manager, advisor, and tech lead to all UCC label operations for our suppliers, and help Wayfair in our mission to reach highest possible compliance with suppliers using UCC labels on their inbound shipments. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of inbound receiving processes, strong familiarity with UCC/SSCC labels, and an analytical approach to solving problems. This candidate should also possess excellent communication skills and intellectual curiosity about improving operational performance and quality through technology. Due to the high visibility with senior leadership throughout the organization, they must also possess strong senior presence.

The Data Integration team collaborates cross functionally with a number of internal departments including EDI Engineering, Supplier Operations, Logistics, Distribution, and Inbound Operations.  In addition to internal groups, this person will be closely connected to our growing supplier base and their needs as well. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze deep data sets to understand trends with inbound receiving
  • Come up with creative and innovative ways to solve for potential issues and stay “ahead of the curve”
  • Delegate supplier reach-out when appropriate and strategize outreach plans to suit various customer needs
  • Maintain strong working relationships with vendors and 3rd party trading partners to drive improved UCC label implementation and performance
  • Move aggressively and quickly in a startup-like environment that leverages the resources of Wayfair
  • Report performance trends and improvements to senior management
  • Regular reporting with cross-functional stakeholders to discuss project states and hurdles
  • Identify ways to increase the speed and effectiveness of setting up these connections
  • Partner closely with our Engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and align on current and future needs
  • Occasional travel to remote warehouse sites
  • Additional projects as required

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics and inbound related fields
  • Experience in business and data analytics, Excel, SQL
  • Ability to lead staff and prioritize effectively
  • Advanced knowledge of EDI standards, especially in ANSI-X12 and EDIFACT
  • Bachelor Degree, MBA or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years of e-commerce, supply chain or management consulting experience, strongly preferred
  • Innovative problem-solving skills – dissect and determine root causes of problems, and implement solutions
  • Proficient in EDI, Excel, XML, API, CSV, and other common forms of exchanged data
  • Analytical approach to problem solving and a track record of driving results through continuous improvement
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Forward thinking, tech- savvy
