Team Manager, Supplier Performance Operations

Wayfair is looking for a talented, driven, and entrepreneurial leader to design and direct strategy for a growing team of Supplier Chain Associates.  This person will be responsible for one of four Supplier Performance Teams, managing 5-8 direct reports that work to optimize suppliers drop-ship supply chain to improve the Wayfair customer experience. The ideal candidate is an energetic team player who understands how to effectively drive results in a fast-paced and rapidly growing company. Due to the high visibility with senior leadership throughout the organization, they must possess strong senior presence. The ideal candidate for this job has leadership experience in a matrix organization, where communication, influencing others and prioritization are as valued as much as project execution and opportunity identification.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct a growing team of Supply Chain Associates
  • Pivot as needed to address unanticipated challenges and complexity in the business model
  • Work strategically with suppliers to continuously improve the customer experience
  • Get in front of VP’s and upper management of suppliers to enact change quickly
  • Collaborate with management, peers and direct reports to driving meaningful results
  • Work cross-functionally with groups company-wide, including Category Management, Buyers, Merchandising, Finance and Logistics
  • Analyze performance trends to develop supplier level roadmaps from insights
  • Move aggressively and quickly in a startup-like environment that leverages the resources of Wayfair
  • Report performance trends and improvements to senior management
  • Contribute to the development of tools and processes that make our team and suppliers more efficient and effective

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor Degree, MBA or equivalent experience
  • 4-6 years of e-commerce, retail merchandising or management consulting experience
  • Ability to hit the ground running – a confident, entrepreneurial self-starter
  • Articulate and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated senior presence, recognized as an effective manager
  • An inclusive and open leadership style
  • Ability to manage and prioritize projects, and to delegate tasks appropriately
  • Innovative problem-solving skills – dissect and determine root causes of problems, and implement solutions
  • Comfortable analyzing large data sets and using that analysis to drive business plans and priorities
  • Experience in driving best practice and process improvements in teams
  • Track record of taking on big challenges and delivering despite obstacles and limited resources
  • Experience in business and data analytics, Excel, SQL
